In 2025, TruSteel Energy introduced a new energy storage system that helps businesses use energy more smartly, flexibly and with an eye to the future.
Within TruSteel Group, energy storage systems have been installed at our sister companies Nauta Heeg, Kampstaal and Kamplacon. These systems allow each site to respond smartly to dynamic energy tariffs, reduce peak consumption and make the most of their existing grid connection. With falling system prices, the payback period now stands at three to four years.
The systems absorb peak loads and allow sustainably generated energy to be deployed more efficiently. They also compensate for power shortfalls on the connection, drawing more value from existing grid capacity. A smart solution to a growing problem, particularly now that grid operator Liander has indicated that additional capacity is not expected to become available until 2031.
