Last year, we worked on the development of a new, smart technology for recycling applications. One concrete result is the 3D trommel screen, deployed in the pre-sorting process of a construction and demolition installation.
As the first separation step, the machine filters out the coarse fractions from the product stream. The 3D functionality prevents long, thin pieces of contaminant material from falling through the screen, keeping unwanted material out of the downstream process. The overflow from the trommel can be removed as RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel), or shredded and returned to the process. This technology reduces the need for manual pre-sorting, saving time and increasing throughput. It also allows more material to be processed, boosting overall installation capacity.
With this application, we contribute to more efficient separation of material streams and better use of raw materials, responding to the growing demand for circular solutions in the sector.
